So, you want a feast?🥢

Hey hey!

So you come home and fancy something naughty! This won’t be quick, but delicious. Like all the best things.

Let me run down my oriental mid week feast.

Firstly, let me start. Harry Styles, Music for a Sushi Restaurant HAS to be playing when you make this. If not your food will taste, well, shit. Secondly, you can pick, choose and totally recreate this. I have added a shit load of things together, because I am a 🐷. But please pick, choose, add and remove anything that isn’t your flavour.

Run down of what we have:

  • Summer Rolls

  • Sticky Chilli Beef

  • Rice (I am the worst at cooking this, sooooo if you want this to be good, please google)

  • Sesame salad

  • Pak Choi and Greens

Sooooo lets start off

NEEDS:

  • Beef (but you can use pork, chicken, tofu , basically whatever you have left in your fridge)

  • Rice

  • Pak Choi

  • Honey

  • Soy Sauce (I used light, but dark works just as well)

  • Salt

  • Garlic

  • Chilli

  • Sesame Oil

  • Rice Paper

  • Cucumber

WANTS:

  • Sesame and Nigella seeds

  • Coriander

  • Spring Onion

Ok let’s go!

First up, Summer Rolls:

  • Prep is everything here! Start peeling your cucumber and carrot into ribbons

  • Chop coriander, spring onion and chilli

  • Boil your kettle

  • Pour your boiling water into a large bowl

  • Once cool enough for you to touch (no burning, please don’t sue me!) dip your rice paper in until soft and malleable

  • Lay your rice paper onto a plate

  • And hey ho! Get filling! Tip! I like to fill my rice paper, so it looks pretty, but if you are starving just ram it all in. In terms of filling, bring the lower edge up over the filling, then fold in the two side flaps, and then roll the entire thing up.

  • Top with sesame and nigella seeds if you are ✨faaaaaancy✨

Sticky Beef, AKA the main event and why we are all here:

  • Get your meat and brown this off in a pan, add oil and chilli and garlic once cooked

  • Wait until this sizzling then add in a big glug of soy sauce and two tablespoons of honey. I find you don’t need any salt for this as the soy gives the salty goodness!

  • Keep cooking until this is sticky, glazey and golden

  • Once done, plate this hot mess up!

Sesame Salad:

  • Grab yourself a potato peeler and start to slice your carrot and cucumber

  • Once sliced, chuck all of this into a bowl

  • Mix together with salt and sesame oil, until full covered

  • Serve up! You can keep this in the fridge of lunches, or if you are feeling healthy, a snack
